On the Market in Nunspeet, you will find two nice artworks that are well worth the short walk to them through the Dorpsstraat.
Mini exhibition: Kunstsnoer Nunspeet
On the Markt and four other spots in the centre of Nunspeet are glass display cases in which changing art is exhibited. They look a bit like an old-fashioned phone box, but with a work of art inside. Every three months, the display case gets a new decoration.
Eibertje
A sculpture of a woman on a plinth. She has a brisk pose, wears a long dress and under her arm a mini shopping trolley containing an egg. This artwork is named after the legendary farmer's wife Eibertje. She probably lived in Vierhouten around 1850 and came to the Nunspeet market every week to sell eggs. She took the shortest way, straight through the forest and across the heath where, according to legend, ghosts, ghouls and elves lived. The brave Eibertje walked there so often that a path developed: the Eibertjespad. It is still today between Nunspeet and Vierhouten.
Visual artist, poet and writer Ingeborg ten Hoopen (Apeldoorn, 1958) is also known for her series of paintings and drawings on very human themes. In 2011, she published the collection of poems Stom Gedicht under the pseudonym Elisa Breimer.
