Woodcutting Forestry scene Vierhouten - Vierhouten
Cut-out trees, a horse's head, two large axes and a wagon wheel make up this remarkable bench sawn from a single tree, which stands right opposite Hotel-restaurant De Mallejan. A Mallejan is a wooden cart that used to be widely used in forestry. The wagon wheel in the bench refers to this.
Sculpture sawyer or tree sculptor Sander Boom (Apeldoorn, 1978) has won many awards for both woodcarving and icecarving. Using a special chainsaw, he sculpts old trees and branches. In Wenum Wiesel, he is working on a sculpture trail where several woodcarving works will be exhibited.
