A jewel in Zeeland's landscape: wine farm De Kleine Schorre in Dreischor. The vineyard was established in 2001. In close cooperation with Luxembourg's renowned wine company Cep d'Or, a number of grape varieties were selected.
The varieties had to meet the criterion of contributing to the Salty Beatitudes of Zeeland. In other words, the wines resulting from the grapes should match dishes with mussels, Eastern Scheldt lobster, oysters, flatfish, sea lavender and samphire. That is why you will find grapes of Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Rivaner and Auxerrois at the winery.
With 63,000 vines spread over an area of 14 hectares, De Kleine Schorre is actually not that small at all. In fact, it is one of the largest vineyards in the Netherlands.
Visit the winery for a tour and a tasting. Or try a glass in the Proeflokaal, together with the tastiest snacks. The Proeflokaal is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 09:00. For more information and reservations, check the website.
At the wine farm you will also find a Wine and Regional Shop, where you can buy its own wines and other delicacies from the region. The shop is open Monday to Saturday from 09.00-17.30.
At De Kleine Schorre there is also a cosy campsite with private sanitary facilities and the possibility to spend the night in a 'Wine Barrel' overlooking the vineyards.
