The rack corn mill, built in 1908, is located on the south side of the village. The superstructure comes from a relocated polder mill, probably one of the former mills of the Kerk en Zanen polder in Alphen aan den Rijn, which stood near the railway station. Initially the mill body was covered with corrugated zinc plates, but this was later replaced by a slate covering, which is rare for mills. Since 1999, the mill has been owned by the municipality. In November 2012, both welded rods from 1978 were replaced with new divisible rods. On Thursday evening, 6 February 2014, at around 10pm, the upper shaft broke while catching. The sails fell to the street and destroyed part of the scaffold. Fortunately, no one was injured. The relatively new blade cross was completely destroyed.
