Six to eight German soldiers stayed in the Wehrmacht cottage during the Second World War. A searchlight was operated from this spot as part of the defence line against the Allies. After the war, the cottage was used as emergency housing due to the high housing shortage.
Step inside and see how the air war over the Peel took place, what role the Wehrmacht cottage played and see stories from eyewitnesses and former residents. You can even admire an original German searchlight.
The Wehrmacht cottage has no fixed opening hours and can only be visited by appointment.
