Watch tower De Poolshoogte | Forestry Odoorn - Odoorn
On a hill in Forestry Odoorn is Watch Tower De Poolshoogte. The hill was built in 1934 as part of job creation. Workers set to work with a shovel and a wheelbarrow to create the hill.
Trees continued to grow around the hill, leading to a fire watch tower being built on the hill in 1968. The tower lost its function and was demolished in 1999. In 2000, a new watchtower was built, which you can climb to this day.
