n this typically Dutch area, you will come across something that is not quite so Dutch: an area that has never been reclaimed from the sea. That is why this area lies a little higher than the surrounding area. De Vlietlanden is a beautiful area with wide canals, reed and hay meadows, all kinds of birds and a swamp forest with a colony of grey herons.
The best way to get to know this area is from the water, but for those who are not so agile, you can also go along with the ranger.
