Vincent van Gogh had a great love of nature. In his youth, he often went out. Up the paths, into the lanes. He wrote in his letters about how he found a bird's nest and he made several sketches of it.
Vincent's love of nature speaks from many of his paintings. He painted landscapes, flowers, as well as birds. There are examples of these that belong to his early work. Van Gogh's second-to-last painting is also famous for the birds flying up: the world-famous ‘Wheat Field with Crows’.
