The world-famous, innovative Van Gogh-Roosegaarde cycle path is located between Eindhoven and Nuenen. You'll find it between cycle junctions 99 and 35. The 600-metre bike path was designed by artist Daan Roosegaarde. It consists of thousands of stones that light up as soon as it gets dark. The design is inspired by Van Gogh's painting 'Starry Night'.
Starry Night is considered one of Van Gogh's greatest masterpieces. It is part of the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Van Gogh painted it in June 1889, when he was voluntarily admitted to the Saint-Paul-de-Mausole hospital in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence for an extended period of psychiatric treatment.
