A small glass building on the Mariaplein in Beltrum contains the last remaining steam engine from the old dairy that once stood here. On the initiative of former village doctor Henk Grobbee, the steam engine has been preserved and restored to its former glory. If you throw 50 euro cents into the box on the wall, you can see the steam engine in operation for a short time.
On the wall near The White Elephant, as the steam engine is called, you can see a bronze plaque commemorating the remarkable GP, who was Beltrum's first GP. Next to that plaque, you see a relief of a milking farmer's wife and a farmer pouring milk into a canister as a reference to the old dairy. Below it is the coat of arms of the municipality of Eibergen.
In the foreground, in the pavement, you can also see a pebble mosaic. This was a gift from the land consolidation committee to the people of Beltrum, at the conclusion of the land consolidation project in 1960.
