The West Frisian village of Twisk is a lovely place to cycle through. There are many places where you can cycle past nineteenth-century houses and old cheese-cover farmhouses. The pyramid-shaped roofs are characteristic. It was therefore no surprise that the village received the title of protected village sight in 1970.
