Cycling here gives you a wonderful view of the wide-open landscape, where the nature of yesteryear is given full rein again. Space has been made for wet and saline nature and with success: salt-loving plants such as sea lavender and sea lavender are back. Birds such as black-tailed godwits, avocets and common terns search for food here. It is an area that is still growing, from a few small pieces to hundreds of hectares that Natuurmonumenten manages. The most beautiful spot is, according to the manager, the beach at Borrendamme. From the seawall you have a breathtakingly beautiful view.
