Oudewater had a living rope industry in the Golden Age. One of the consumers of Oudewater's rope was the VOC. At the Rope Museum, you can experience rope-making for yourself. Make your own (jumping) rope, for example!
Did you know that the museum is actually located in a former track barn? This is where all supplies were stored. Think of the harvested hemp, the yarns, spinning wheels and sledges.
Come along and see the old tools and the real old liner shed of Touwfabriek G. van der Lee in Oudewater.
