Nature and recreation area De Groenzoom, located between the municipalities of Lansingerland and Pijnacker-Nootdorp and bordering Zoetermeer-Rokkeveen, covers an impressive area of more than 500 hectares. This special piece of nature acts as a green buffer, connecting Middendelfland with the beautiful Green Heart.
The development of De Groenzoom began in 2010, agricultural activities gave way to the creation of this unique nature reserve. Through careful management, herbs and plants were given the chance to develop and De Groenzoom has become an attractive habitat for various birds, butterflies and other insects.
De Groenzoom is characterised by water features crossing reed and grassland, interspersed with scattered woods and shrubs. This immediately gives the landscape the character of an authentic Dutch polder landscape. Cattle and sheep graze on some plots in the area, again contributing to the preservation of the landscape and biodiversity. If you are looking for a beautiful place to experience nature and relax in the great outdoors, De Groenzoom comes highly recommended.
