The current mill was built in 1864 as a replacement for a mill in poor condition. In 1978, the Gramsbergen municipality bought the only remaining mill in this municipality to preserve it and have it restored. The restoration took place in 1981 and ownership of the mill was transferred to the De Aner Molen foundation shortly afterwards. This foundation also runs and manages the mill. In 2002, thanks to a sponsor, the mill received a new pair of grinding stones, allowing it to grind fodder again.
