Tenaxx Country Estate is located on the outskirts of Westerwolde and is known for its unique collection of trees: the Hanging Gardens of Wedde. More than 700 different species of trees grow on the country estate. Since its opening in May 2015, it has been a special place for nature lovers.
The history of Tenaxx Country Estate began in 2004 on a former potato field. The name Tenaxx means ‘tenacious’ and refers to the determination with which the country estate was developed. Inspired by the meandering gardens of Groningen and the weeping willows in the local funerary culture, a few years later the estate began to collect weeping varieties in collaboration with growers from the Netherlands and abroad.
The 30-hectare country estate offers something special for all ages. Visitors can stroll along water features and through a unique 10-hectare tree park, where a fascinating collection of weeping willows can be admired. Here you can discover all kinds of things about trees and their survival strategies.
