Buurmalsen and Tricht were not part of the seigniory of Buren, but, like Beusichem and Zoelmond, were later added to the county of Buren. This was possibly as a result of exchanging territory with Margriet van Buren, owner of Huis Crayestein, located in Tricht. After the reforms of the feudal system in 1811, the two towns went their separate ways. They have been part of the municipality of Geldermalsen, have been independent municipalities and have since been added to the current municipality of West Betuwe. A small part of Buurmalsen, incidentally, belongs again to the municipality of Buren.
A little outside Tricht, on the outskirts of Buurmalsen, you will find Tea Kanitz's beautiful tea garden. In the large garden, behind her house, she created a green oasis of tranquillity that she would like to share with you. You can admire Tea's beautiful garden in season and enjoy the pond, the art, the most beautiful flowers and, last but not least, the hospitality. On the terrace near the tea garden, you can sit down and order a nice drink with a snack.
