There are not that many foxes in the Northern Delta, unlike in almost the whole of the Netherlands. Goeree is still doing quite well, especially compared to the barer areas on Flakkee and Schouwen-Duiveland. The dunes are a stronghold, but don't discount the south coast too quickly.
There are several nature reserves, such as the Koudenhoek and the Preekhilpolder. That means plenty of prey, in the form of small animals. The proximity of Ouddorp also favours our red predator. After all, where there are people, there is food.
Although Ouddorp is a neat little place, a ‘fastfood fox’ is bound to wander around from time to time. This will usually be at night, which does not mean that nothing can happen during the day.
Keep your senses sharp! Foxes are smaller than you might think, especially in summer with their thinner fur. You won't be the first to not give a weird little dog a second glance....
