The former Steam Cotton Spinning Mill ‘Twenthe’ in Almelo, designed by Arend Beltman in 1916, is an industrial heritage site with a rich history in the textile industry. The building, now a business centre, has largely retained its original concrete construction and distinctive facades with brick and steel frames. With two striking water towers, it is an architectural icon in the city.
Located near the NS railway station, the factory building is valued for its historical and architectural significance and is a reminder of Twente's thriving textile industry.
