In the large pond on the Triasplein, a swan's nest appears to lie. With curled neck, the reclining young seems to be taking food from the parent that has just landed with large spread wings. This, in reality, bronze sculpture was made in 2007 and donated by former mayor J.H. de Groot.
Sculptor and medallist Evert den Hartog (Groot-Ammers, 1949) mainly creates many bronze works of art and has become known for his bronze animal figures, especially birds and bulls are ever-present. His works can be found in numerous Dutch municipalities, but also far beyond the country's borders. Rotterdam is also home to two sculptures of a ballerina, for which his daughter Eline served as inspiration.
