Bap is Volendam for grandfather. This sculpture of a fisherman on clogs can be found near the village harbor, on the bench with his back to the Markermeer. Jans van Baarsen decided to make a sculpture of Baps in 1998. Since then he has belonged to Volendam, just like his other sculptors by the way! In fact, in the village you can also find the sculptures 't Ootje, Visserman and Klaassie and klaassie.
