Jan Snoeck trained at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague. In 1953 he worked for a year with Ossip Zadkine (known among other things for the Rotterdam sculpture 'The Destroyed City') in Paris. Although he started out as a sculptor, Jan Snoeck later became known primarily for his cheerful sculptures in ceramics, which usually have people as subjects.
