Lia Krol (Dinther 1956) is an artist who trained at the Royal Academy of Art and Design in Den Bosch. Her speciality is classical realistic bronze sculptures, with emotions and character. Together with Caroline van ‘t Hoff-Hörchner (Den Helder 1961), sculptor and painter who studied at the Akademie voor Beeldende Vorming Amersfoort, she made this detailed bronze sculpture of William of Orange and Anna van Buren.
The young couple is depicted in front of St Lambert's church with two of their three children. Eldest daughter Maria died a year after her birth.
