The standard mill at the Schoolstraat is iconic for Moergestel. It has been standing here since 1852. The construction of the skeleton of the case shows that this is an old mill with kinship to standard mills from Flanders.
The mill has been restored several times. Because of the poor condition of the cast iron shaft, the mill was forced to stand still between 2003 and 2009. In the autumn of 2007, the sails and the shaft head were removed for technical research. Then, in 2009, a new cast-iron upper shaft was installed, and new rods were put in place.
When there is enough wind, the miller turns on Saturday afternoons.
