The Second Broeker Mill, so is there also a First and a Third? There used to be! Indeed, in 1631 there were five mills on the Lagendijk that together worked to drain the Uitgeester and Heemskerker Broekpolder. Unfortunately, four of the five mills disappeared and only The Second Broeker Mill remained, but if you look closely at how the water runs, you can recognise in the landscape where the former mills stood.
The Second Broeker Mill has been using a wooden auger that can be driven at different speeds since its inception. This way, the mill can be adjusted to situations with much or little wind. The wooden auger grinds about 80 to 100 m3 of water per minute from the polder.
Besides windmill, the historical heritage site is also a residential house.
