Old vines, a Japanese ginko, a trumpet tree, a giant Lebanon cedar and some 1,000 other trees and plant species make up the rich collection of flora of this beautiful original estate, then called Rust en Lust. The park is also home to eight bee hives, Japanese carp, kingfishers and a tawny owl.
In 1860, the country estate was changed into the current park in English landscape style. What has been preserved is the oasis of calm that is special for a city centre of such a busy city. It is a place of silence and a protected national monument. A nice place to park your bike for a while and enjoy peace and nature in the middle of the big city.
