On the facade of the old forester's house you can read the name 'Oranjebond van Orde' (Orange Association of Order). They are the founders of this beautiful country estate on the border with Belgium. Less fortunate people from the cities used to be able to build a new life here. Unfortunately, this idealistic plan did not last long after which the estate was bought by the Heidemaatschappij. Brabants Landschap took over from them in 1978 and turned the forest back into heathland. It is now a fertile country estate for flora and fauna and therefore very suitable for a hike as a stopover for your cycling route.
