At the edge of the Alde Feanen and the Jan Durkspolder is a 13 metre high watchtower. From the highest point, you have a good view of the bird species that breed, rest and forage here.
The tower was built on the foundations of an old farm, called Romsicht, which was demolished in 1967. The thatched roof is covered with reeds from the polder. A great variety of birds live here. With a bit of luck, you may see a group of spoonbills here!
