In the Dutch town of Best stands a monument honouring Lieutenant Colonel Robert G. Cole, a heroic officer of the 101st Airborne Division. The monument consists of a plaque bearing the division's emblem and an image of Cole. It commemorates his courageous actions during Operation Market Garden, in which he lost his life on 18 September 1944.

Cole was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor for his courageous leadership and sacrifice. The monument is a tribute to his dedication and serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made for our freedom. The lieutenant colonel is buried at the American Cemetery in Margraten.
