Rilland Experience Site - Rilland
If you want to know more about the Westerschelde, you should definitely hop off at the Rilland Experience Site. The signs provide a wealth of interesting information on various subjects relating to the Scheldt. Did you know that the ebb and flow of the tide can be felt up to 160 kilometres inland?
At high tide, the salt water penetrates deeper inland, at low tide the salt line lies further towards the coast with a tidal range of up to five metres.
Use the free binoculars to spot the seals that often rest on the Platen van Valckenisse. You can also rest on one of the welcoming benches and enjoy the view of the Westerschelde.
