Rijsterborgherpark - Deventer

N 52.258831641367 / E 6.1545113792411

Between Deventer station and the city center lies Rijsterborgherpark. The original city park was designed in 1887 by Leonard Anthony Springer and laid out on the contours of Deventer’s fortifications. During World War II, the park suffered significant damage from bombings aimed at the station.

A new design was necessary and was created by Gerard Bleeker between 1948 and 1952. Since 1968, this beautiful city park has been a national monument. You will find a sculpture trail, a fountain, a bandstand, and a bird island. A park to relax in amidst the city's hustle and bustle.
