Stepping into restaurant The Black Whale is like stepping into the rich history of the Zaan region. The kitchen is part of a historic merchant's house. The restaurant, brasserie, Regent Room, and upstairs room are housed in a former orphanage. The bar and the Commander's Room are located in the Whaler's Warehouse, once used by whalers.
The interior blends a rich historical ambiance with a contemporary, welcoming atmosphere. And by the way, this is the only terrace with a view of the Zaan River! Sipping on a glass of Verdejo while taking in the 17th-century scenery: it doesn’t get more unique than this.
The kitchen is open all day for lunch, drinks, and dinner.
