The history of Rhederoord starts around 1650 when merchant Willem Everwijn bought this piece of land. The estate is named after a parcel of land with that name. Through inheritance the land came into the possession of the Arnhem regent family Brantsen. Between 1743 and 1746 Willem Reynier Brantsen had the manor house built, and Jacob Pieter Theodore Brantsen later commissioned the addition of an east and west wing.
Rhederoord remained in family hands for more than two centuries, until it was sold in 1910. Another sale followed in 1919, with a division. The Society for the Preservation of Nature Monuments became the owner of the woods and parkland south of the house. Since 2003, the country estate and the coach house have been beautiful locations for an overnight stay, parties or an evening meal in the Koetshuis.
