Housed in a historic building from 1669, you will find Restaurant de Gouden Bock. Here you can enjoy a delicious lunch or dinner. The restaurant works mainly with organic produce from Walcheren. Fresh ingredients come from their own vegetable garden and the chef himself is a hunter on the island. Other products are sourced as much as possible from the region. The focus is on seasonal game and fresh fish and shellfish from the North Sea.
During the siege of Middelburg, there was hardly any food left on Walcheren. Inhabitants of the countryside flocked to Middelburg in desperation. There, unfortunately, the situation was no better.
