The Gelderland town of Beusichem is located in the Betuwe, just below the river Lek. It was once part of the seigniory of Buren, which was governed by the van Buren family. In 1498, the free lordship of Buren was elevated to the county of Buren, with the Van Egmont family as the ruling family. At the end of the 18th century, reforms were introduced as a result of the Batavian Republic and the influence of Napoleon, which eventually made Beusichem an independent municipality
Take your well-earned break in this small town, at Restaurant De Buren, near junction 35. Park your bike in the bike rack or place your electric bike at the charging station. When you enter the restaurant, you immediately feel at home in the cosy living room atmosphere. Weather permitting, you can walk through the living room to the secret courtyard garden.
Coffee and cake are waiting for you, but a delicious sandwich or a well-stocked bar snack are also highly recommended!
