The Heemkundigmuseum Ommeren, the Historische Kring Kesteren and the Boerenwagenmuseum Buren have joined forces. This has resulted in the Baron van Brakell Regional Museum, in a three-storey building on Den Eng estate in Ommeren. Each floor contains its own theme.
The ground floor is completely decorated according to the theme of living and working in the Betuwe in the 1950s. In the basement, you will find farm wagons, a cartwright with tools and a blacksmith's shop-from the River Region in days gone by. On the first floor, they even go back to Roman times, with many ground finds from the region, including a Roman sword.
