In the heart of Doesburg, in the attractive Gildehofje, you will find the Openbaar Vervoer & Speelgoed Museum. Interesting for both children and adults, this museum highlights the history of public transport in the Netherlands.
With a special emphasis on the Tramways of Gelderland in the Achterhoek region, the museum offers insight through historical utensils, photos and detailed models of trains and buses. This gives you a clear picture of what public transport used to look like.
Besides transport history, the museum displays an extensive collection of antique toys. These toys are displayed in a unique way, as if they were part of a small village, complete with shop windows, bringing the history of toys to life.
For young visitors, there is a chance to operate a train track themselves, providing an interactive experience. Little ones can visit a special play corner.
