In Yerseke, the Oyster pits are used to let just-caught oysters come to rest before they are packaged and sold. The pits and sheds date back to 1873 and are still used manually by growers to sort and check the oysters for quality.

At the Oyster Farm, it is possible to book guided tours along the process from cultivation to consumption, from the oyster pits.
