The Old Council House is the former town hall of Etten. It was built in 1776 to a design by Philip Willem Schonck. Nowadays, the building with its beautiful platform serves as a meeting centre.

Van Gogh first registered as a painter here in 1881. That is why it is a Van Gogh monument.
