The North Veluwe Museum is an art museum with many different works of art by mainly North Veluwe artists. From 1880, the development of the north-west Veluwe region took off. Its nature and the simple lifestyle of its inhabitants was of interest to city dwellers. An artist community also emerged around Nunspeet and Elspeet in the late 19th century.
Eventually, more than 100 artists lived and worked in this region between 1880 and 1950, including Arthur Briët, Jan van Vuuren, Ben Viegers and Jos Lussenburg. If you take another look at the districts of Nunspeet, you will see that there is a district where the streets are named after these painters.
The museum not only gives you the information about the paintings, but also tells the stories of the painters and the inhabitants of this part of the Veluwe.
