Nijhuis Clogs - Beltrum
Did you know that the largest wooden shoe factory in the world is located in Beltrum in Gelderland? The Nijhuis family has had a clog factory here since 1938, where souvenirs, wooden tulips and related articles are made in addition to the traditional Dutch wooden shoes.
Beltrum is a real clog village. In 1850, a poplar forest grew up between Lochem and Borculo. The ideal material for making wooden shoes. The factory also has a shop where you can buy the Achterhoek clogs. The village is also home to the Gelrica clog experience centre. Here you can walk the clog experience path with groups of at least 8 people by appointment and clogs.
