When you think of the Veluwe, you probably picture woods, heath and sand drifts, combined with deer, roe deer and wild boar. Anyone looking for that need look no further: you will find it all in Planken Wambuis nature reserve. A forest with a special name. It refers to a wooden hut or wambuis, or to a coffin. This is where the name of a simple wooden hut that served as a country inn comes from. This is how the area got its name. It is a beautiful and wild nature reserve, with several viewpoints.
Would you like to know more about the animals of Planken Wambuis? Then go along with the excursion 'Tracking down tracks' which the forester gives regularly.
