Nature Gate De Kriekeput is one of 31 Brabant Nature Gates and is located in De Herpse Bossen. The Herpse Bossen, also known as Herperduin, are part of the De Maashorst nature reserve, the largest continuous nature reserve in North Brabant. This varied area includes woods, heathland, sand drifts and fens and is also the habitat of wisents, Scottish Highlanders and badgers.

Various walking, riding and cycling routes start at the nature gate and there is even a swimming pool.
