Bordering the Wadden Sea is the village of Moddergat. It is a special village, because its villagescape is protected. Here, you will find Museum 't Fiskershúske, also called Museum Moddergat; an open-air museum in which the disappeared inshore fishing and the fishing culture are remembered.
The museum collects all kinds of objects related to the old coastal fishing and the life of the inhabitants in the past. In four fishermen's cottages you can admire the various collections and exhibitions. You can also start a mudflat hiking tour from the museum.
