About 50 years ago the municipality of Spakenburg realised that many things from the past would soon disappear. From that moment on the collection that you now find in the museum was collected. They thought that the botters would disappear, so their first purchase was a botter model. Many utensils from that time were also collected. You can now admire objects from fishing and peasant life. Of course, the traditional costumes cannot be missing, and there are also several works of art on display.
In the museum shop, you will find books about the history of Bunschoten-Spakenburg, but you are also at the right place for original gifts. In the museum café, you can have a cup of coffee or tea, and there is plenty to learn and discover for children and teenagers.
