The Museum Railway S.T.A.R has been running historic steam and diesel trains between Veendam and Musselkanaal since 1994. The railway runs almost entirely along the border between Groningen and Drenthe, the Semslinie, crossing the region known as the Veenkoloniën of East Groningen. At 26 km long, it is the longest museum line in the Netherlands. A unique line with many works of art across its many districts and canals.
