No fewer than four command posts were located in Grou's underground bunker. Two of them were for the Protection of the Population. The command post was commissioned in 1967, at the time of the Cold War.
Now it is one of the (two) visiting locations of the Museum Bescherming Bevolking. Visiting the museum and the underground bunkers here in Grou, feels like going back in time, the time of the Cold War.
Command Post Grou is open every Wednesday afternoon and every first Sunday of the month. (In the summer months also on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday afternoons, for the most up-to-date opening hours see the museum's website). Bring cash, admission is €4.50 per person.
