Museum Hert fan Fryslân is located in the basement of the old town hall. Admire the exhibitions on interesting typical Frisian or Grouster themes. Of course, it is about water, but also about the tradition of Saint Piter.
You will discover who the Halbertsmas were and feast your eyes on the collection of gold, silver, textiles and porcelain from the legacy of Mrs Atje Gaastra. This collection was the reason for founding the museum in 1956.
You will also learn more about the famous architect Kropholler who designed this old town hall. On request you can get a guided tour, whether or not combined with a small village walk.
