Museum Buurtspoorweg | Boekelo station - Enschede
At this station, of the Geldersch-Overijsselsche Lokaalspoorweg Maatschappij, in Boekelo, the steam train from Winterswijk to Hengelo had been running since 1885. Later, trains towards Haaksbergen, Hengelo and Enschede were added. Until the station was closed in 1972.
Since then, the shed at the old station has been used by the Museum Buurt Spoorweg Boekelo (MBS), as a museum shed. On days when the old steam train runs the Haaksbergen-Boekelo route, the museum shed can be visited. You can buy a ticket and take that ride, or you can just visit the museum depot. Old locomotives and other equipment are displayed here, and you will find model railways and play tables for the youngest visitors.

The museum shed is closed from November to March. From April to October, the museum shed is accessible on train operating days. Timetables can be found on the museum website.
