Museum Voorlinden is a private museum with impressive conceptual and contemporary art on the Voorlinden Estate. During the 17th century, various estates arose around The Hague, including Voorlinden.
In the early 19th century, a park was laid out in the landscape style at Voorlinden, to the design of J.D. Zocher Sr (1791-1870) and later supplemented by his son J.D. Zocher Jr (1820-1915). When Voorlinden came into the hands of Jonkheer Hugo Loudon, he commissioned the construction of the current country house with a restaurant in 1912. The internationally renowned Dutch landscape architect Piet Oudolf recently designed the gardens around the museum building. This makes for lovely walks on the estate.
